Porto Design Biennale is a global gathering that explores the role of design in the creation of more satisfying and sustainable ways of living. For two months, designers, curators, activists, decision-makers, students and citizens gather in the cities of Porto and Matosinhos to imagine alternative spaces, different forms of production and new ways of subsistence through design. The next edition will be back in 2023.

The 1st edition of the Porto Design Biennale mobilized around 50,000 people over 81 days, in a vast programme which included around 300 projects and 60 events, such as exhibitions, workshops, performances, installations and conversations, presented in 37 spaces in the cities of Porto and Matosinhos.
